Authorities are looking for 3 people accused of using counterfeit money to pay for their food. On January 19, 2011, at approximately 12:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to 940 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, the Sonic Drive Inn, regarding counterfeit money received.  According to employees at the Sonic, three suspects drove up in a newer model green Ford extended cab pickup truck and placed two separate orders.  Both orders were paid with a counterfeit 20 dollar bill.  The suspects fled

the area upon receiving their change from the purchases.  The suspects were described as 2 white males and 1 white female in their late 20’s and/or early 30’s.  Police are looking into a similar incident that occurred at a Sonic in Broussard.
