So many times on the pages of this website we have to bring you stories that are just not fun to report. So many of the stories involve children and horrible things that are done to them by those who should know better.

This is the opposite of that kind of story. It's a story of a youth football player and his coach. It's a story of how people who choose to support and volunteer with youth sports programs can have a positive effect on the lives of the children they teach.

All we can say is, get ready to grab a Kleenex.

The boy, 6-year-old Jayden had just presented his coach with a coffee mug that read, "A good coach can change the game. A great coach can change a life".  While for many of us that kind of a gift from a child would be more than enough to melt our hearts forever. Little Jayden had one more surprise for Coach Richard.

As you can hear in the video above, the note that Jayden read to his coach left Coach Richard and just about everyone in attendance and many of us who have watched the video in tears. The good kind of tears. The kind of tears that seem to be missing from so many youth sports activities.

So, Kudos to Coach Richard and kudos to the kiddo, Jayden. Kindness and appreciation are two tools of sportsmanship that are seldom taking out and used on the playing field. Thank you for demonstrating to us, the cynical sports fans, that there is still good in youth sports and there are still great coaches and amazing players that play the games.
