Trooper Brooks David says in 2014 there were 61 fatal crashes and 73 people died in those crashes.

Officers will be conducting an DWI checkpoint within the city limits of Abbeville between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.

In an OWI checkpoint over the weekend, Lafayette Police say five drivers were arrested for OWI while two people were arrested for possession of marijuana.

The sobriety checkpoint will be set up at an undisclosed location in St. Landry Parish. It will begin Thursday night from 9:00 p.m. and last until Friday morning at 3:00 a.m.

Friday, October 26, between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., officers will be conducting an DWI and Seatbelt Compliance Checkpoint in an undisclosed location within Calcasieu Parish.

The sobriety checkpoint will be set up at an undisclosed location in Calcasieu Parish. It will begin Friday night at 10:00 p.m. and end Saturday morning at 4:00 a.m.

State Police, along with the Abbeville Police Department, says they will be looking for impaired drivers on Tuesday.

State Police continue their efforts to crack down on impaired drivers. This Saturday, from 9 PM to 3 AM, they will be in Calcasieu Parish at an undisclosed location.
