The Iberia Parish Council voted to override Parish President Errol Romero's veto of the ordinance that set penalties for a charter violation.

According to Parish President Errol Romero, at issue is whether or not parish government should be paying for health insurance premiums for employees at the district attorney's office.
The Council says they are conducting the investigation because of a series of letters Iberia Parish President Errol Romero wrote earlier this year to the Attorney General's Office and other state agencies alleging District Attorney Phil Haney illegally received health insurance payments for four years during former Parish President Ernest Freyou's administration.
