Youngsville officials say the upscale professionals who have been moving into the area are not signing up in sufficient numbers to staff the city's volunteer fire department.

A mobile home went up in flames in Broussard last night.  It happened on Girouard Road, where firefighters responded to the call.  They found heavy smoke coming from the home and put out the fire in around half an hour. After further investigation, it was clear to investigators that several fires were set in the mobile home...

A woman's home on Fairview Parkway was severly damaged by fire.

Firefighters will be getting some much needed extra money for more equipment.  The new breathing equipment will be used by firefighters when they are responding to calls.
