Two years ago, Morgan City man Jason Dinger had an idea for a board game called "Captains Of The Gulf". Little did he know that his idea would manifest into a big hit in the worldwide gaming community.
For the first time since 1983, the entire gulf was basically up for sale. The Interior Department was offering up a record 77 million acres for development, with discounted royalty rates on the shallower tracts.
Scientists are showing great concern over Gulf water temperatures this early in the year. It could mean a spike in stronger thunderstorms or maybe stronger hurricanes for the region.
