Amazon is "in talks" with Simon Property Group to convert the large empty retail spaces into Amazon fulfillment centers. These empty stores would transform into warehouses that ship online orders.

This has been an especially rough month for big retail chains. JCPenney is the 4th national retailer to file for bankruptcy this month

The troubled retailer confirmed that it will remain open after selling the building to Miami-based real estate investment firm Lionheart Capital.
