A group of 13 men, including 9 from Louisiana, is headed to federal prison for their involvement in a massive drug trafficking ring at Angola State Penitentiary.
Reports are saying that a corrections officer at the Louisiana State Penitentiary has been booked into jail after attempting to smuggle contraband into Angola. Included in the contraband was a slew of items including cell phones, video games, and tobacco products.
A U.S. district judge ordered Woodfox.s release in June because he said after 40 years there is not enough evidence or witnesses left to hold a fair trial.
