The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is urging folks in Louisiana to "Save a Swamp, Sauté a Nutria."

This isn't the first radical step the state has taken to protect delicate ecosystems from this calamitous critter.

I have the most random mind sometimes. I was out at Lake Martin last weekend and I saw a nutria rat and commented to my wife, "I may not be fast, but I could outrun him."

The U.S. House of Representatives has just approved $12 million annually to help get rid of nutria rats in an effort to help fight coastal erosion.
