In a Facebook post yesterday, Downtown Lafayette Unlimited announced that after three years of planning and fundraising, the project is becoming a reality.

The 2nd annual Localpalooza, a celebration of local arts and culture, is happening this weekend at Parc International and Parc Sans Souci in downtown Lafayette.

Bicyclists of all ages are invited to the 5th Annual Bicycle Safety Festival this Saturday, June 12 at Parc Sans Souci in downtown Lafayette.

The sign was painted over the weekend to celebrate Gay Pride Month and, by Monday, had been defaced.

The "Lafayette" sign at Parc Sans Souci was recently painted like a rainbow for Gay Pride Month. Police are searching for the man who defaced the sign.

It is a free event and open to the public

The sign will remain painted with the Gay Pride colors until July when, typically, it is repainted with the red, white, and blue of Old Glory.
