According to the Lafayette Police Department, there was a fatal crash involving a pedestrian around 9:48 pm in the 2600 block of Cameron Street.

LPD said they responded to the pedestrian-involved vehicle accident in the 100 block of PHI Drive at 4:19 pm on Monday, January 15.

The incident, which occurred last week, happened on W. Congress.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, the accident occurred around 8:21 pm in the 5100 block of W. Congress Street.

According to Louisiana State Police, the pedestrian was walking southbound on the Frontage Road near mile marker 9 when they were hit and fatally injured.

According to Louisiana State Police a man was walking along the shoulder of the road when for some reason he stepped into the road.

The driver was found not to be impaired and has not been charged in the accident.
