Lafayette Consolidated Government is reminding residents that this is a long holiday weekend, which means there may be changes in your trash and recycling collection.
Republic Services is expecting to resume trash and recycling pickup on Tuesday, February 16 with services moving forward "on a one day delay for the remainder of the week."
Throughout February and March, Republic Services was late on garbage pickup, in some cases days late. As a result, Mark Dubroc, public works director for LCG says Republic will face "a very substantial" fine.
LCG wants residents to know that the Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Road will NOT be open on Monday, but will return to normal business hours on Tuesday, September 6.
All residential customers served by Republic Services and the Recycling Foundation should set waste out the evening before their regularly scheduled collection day during the entire week of Memorial Day.
