By now you have probably heard the news, gumbo weather is on the way to Louisiana. Or so we thought. As much as we want to be excited and start getting our sweaters ready something tells us this might be too good to be true. Believe me, we desperately want this Louisiana summer to be far behind us but now all eyes are on Chief Meteorologist Rob Perillo after a Facebook post he made.

If anyone knows some great tips on how to stay cool in this heat, it's your local meteorologists.

Flood watches have been posted for much of Louisiana this morning as a storm system bringing a threat of prolonged heavy rain moves into the state.

Much of South Louisiana could experience heavy downpours and strong to severe thunderstorms today. Here's the projected time when the worst of the weather will be moving through.

Today will be warm and breezy but should be quite bumpy with strong storms possible in the overnight hours.

The local TV icon is being recognized for his years of service to the Acadiana and Gulf Coast regions.

Record heat but big changes on the way.

The space experts out there are saying that Acadiana will get a good view of the International Space Station as it passes over this evening.

The heavy rain won't fall all the time but it will continue to fall some of the time for the next few days.

Rain chances will remain high through the weekend and most of next week across South Louisiana.

Five to seven inches of rain could fall over South Louisiana over the next several days.

The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes is listing 4 meteorologists as finalists in the National Weatherperson of the Year Award, and Rob Perillo made that list.

All eyes were in the sky for the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Keep your eyes on the sky this evening for a chance to view the International Space Station. According to our guy Rob Perillo over at KATC-TV3, you may also be able to see the SpaceX crew delivering some astronauts to the ISS.

Our media partners at KATC-TV3 are reporting that the disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has been upgraded to a Hurricane by the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane Zeta is projected to make landfall late Wednesday.

As we all prepare for Hurricane Delta's potential landfall in the Acadiana area, there seems to be quite a bit of doom and gloom surrounding the storm's impact. Our media partners at KATC-TV3 wants us to know that the incoming Hurricane may not be as bad as we think.

When the legend himself Mr. Rob Perillo, Chief Meteorologist with our media parters at KATC-TV3 lets you know that he has good news, he means REALLY good news. That good news he is referring to is of school bus sized proportion and it just so happens to be hurdling past earth tomorrow morning.

In a weather blog at KATC.com, Perillo reported the predictions of Dr. Philip Klotzbach. Klotzbach is the hurricane forecaster for Colorado State University.

Tropical weather models are developing a low-pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico next week. That could be a cause for concern by next Wednesday or Thursday.

While reporting on deadly tornadoes last night, Rob had to deal with ugly (even threatening) messages from angry viewers. Here is one of the nicer messages.
