Louisiana is officially in a state of emergency due to extreme heat and its raised some serious concerns in terms of transportation for students. Over 100 school buses in central Louisiana are operating without AC making conditions for the bus drivers and students on board less than ideal.
Bossier City has had it with drivers who refuse to dangerously ignore laws and not stop for school buses who are picking and dropping off children, and they're doing something about it.
Many parents on social media are reacting to a video of a parent and a school bus driver getting into a shouting match. The parent was filming as the bus pulled up and when the doors opened, she told the bus driver, "Please don't yell at my kids today".
According to reports, a mother in Alabama was arrested on multiple charges after she boarded a school bus and confronted and 11-year-old. Apparently, the mother believed that the student was bullying her child which is what prompted her to fight the child.
Footage from a nearby home surveillance system shows the chaotic and frightening scene in New Iberia as two parents boarded the bus and attacked the driver.
An Iberia Parish School bus driver was allegedly assaulted by two parents while on their morning route in New Iberia on Friday, February 26, 2021. Superintendent of Iberia Parish Schools, Carey Laviolette, confirmed the incident and according to a family member, the bus driver was taken to the hospital.
