A woman who was preparing to be sentenced for mail fraud was found dead early this morning. Lafayette Sheriff's Authorities say Danielle Guidroz of Youngsville has died of an apparent suicide.

The first sentence has been handed down for a drug trafficking group operating locally. Damien Victor of Lafayette was sentenced to 16 years in prison and 5 years supervised release following that for his role in the group that distributed crack and cocaine within the Truman neighborhood area in Lafayette.

The Granddad Bandit has been sentenced to 25 yeas in prison for robbing banks in 13 states.

Sentencing is being delayed until April 6 for the head of a defunct movie studio who pleaded guilty to selling $1.9 million in nonexistent tax credits to members of the New Orleans Saints.
