A former St. Mary Parish Jail deputy arrested after alleged sexual conversations with an inmate.

An investigation has been launched after a man died in the custody of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.

The man is in jail for allegedly robbing a business.

Deputies responded to 125 complaints in the last 72 hours, but they only nine people were booked into the jail.

A detective looking into how contraband was getting into the jail, says Yeron Diaz-Soler, admitted to the officer that he brought cell phones into the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.
