Volunteers are needed for Sunday.

Youngsville voters in 2011 approved a 1-cent sales tax to pay for the park. The tax generates up to $2 million a year.

Mayor Wilson Viator says the city will begin purchasing items such as pitching mounds, portable fencing and soccer goals.

Both the baseball and soccer fields have been seeded, and the first games will start next year.

Wednesday night the Youngsville City Council will be holding a special meeting to consider final adoption for a one cent sales tax increase.  The sales tax increase would be used for a new sport complex in Youngsville.
