A teenager has been accused of stabbing a man repeatedly yesterday in an argument over a borrowed cell phone.

Our news partners at KATC are reporting that the 47-year-old victim went to the 15-year-old juvenile's home to retrieve the borrowed cell phone when he says the teen started stabbing him.

Port Barre Police Department officials say this teenager has multiple violent offenses in his background.

Police say the 15-year-old was arrested on a charge of second-degree battery. A court order initially had him placed in the Port Barre Jail before he was transferred to the juvenile detention facility here in Lafayette.

The victim was stabbed in his arms and upper back area.
