Texas Lottery players have once again been treated to a nice night of Powerball thanks to Lady Luck. Players from Elmedorf, Tyler, Anna, and Coldspring Texas know the feeling of a big lottery win and as of last night, at least two more Texans will know what it feels like to "hit it big in the lottery".

Monday's Powerball was played for an estimated annuitized jackpot of $173 million. The lump sum payout on that jackpot would have been $80.6 million but unfortunately, no one in Texas or anywhere else in the Powerball footprint is faced with the decision of choosing between a lump sum or an extended payout over time.

That's a fancy way of saying the next time we play Powerball, there will be even more money for you to win. But let's recap Monday's drawing for you because Texas tickets once again claimed some of the largest prizes in the game.

Here's how the Powerball drawing for June 4, 2024, unfolded.

The winning numbers as depicted by the ping pong balls were:

19   29   35   36   45   Powerball 16   Power Play x2

You may use those numbers for reference but you'll want to verify your ticket or tickets at the Official Powerball website or the Official Texas Lottery website. Those sites can confirm your win and explain the best way to collect any prizes you might be owed.

One ticket in Monday's Powerball matched the numbers needed to win one million dollars. That ticket was sold in Connecticut. Our source at the Texas Lottery in Austin revealed two tickets sold in Texas did earn big prizes. One of those was a $100,000 winner and the other was a $50,000.

Both of the big-money winners in Texas matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The $100,000 winner opted for the Power Play, that's why their winnings are doubled.

Tonight's Mega Millions would be the jackpot you'd really like to win. Tonight's drawing will be for an estimated annuitized top prize of $560 million or a lump sum of $258.4 million. That jackpot is the ninth largest ever offered by Mega Millions.  That drawing takes place tonight at 9:59 Texas time.

A word to the wise, most lottery tickets are not winners. Should you choose to play you are at risk of losing your money. Please spend only what you can afford to lose.
