OVERWHELMED: "The Voice" Joins Dave & Jimmy:

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 5TH, 2011 - In an interview, which undoubtably was heard all over the world, Ted Williams, the now world famous "Homeless DJ," joined WNCI/Columbus' Dave & Jimmy Show this morning for a special guest appearance. "Special" hardly describes what ensued. With a studio packed with TV cameras and non-stop emotion, the voice, Ted Williams, told his story of radio success, followed by years of self-destruction through alcohol and drugs. He said about a year ago he began standing on the corner in hopes of maybe being seen by a PD or someone who would give him a second chance. Yesterday, with the help of a friend who posted his video on the Columbus Dispatch on YouTube, it appears now he'll be getting more chances than he ever imagined. No sooner had D&J went to the phones, the offers and money began to flow. First up was a producer from MTV who called with an offer to fly out to LA to be their guest announcer; he called him "The Susan Boyle of DJ's. This was followed by a slew of other offers including expense paid trips to Hollywood, Hawaii, New York, guest appearances on new TV Shows, Radio Specials, Inside Edition, money offers and more. In fact, one lady, responding to D&J saying they didn't think their station could make them an offer, offered to pay $15,000 for him to work on their show. Then, D&J welcomed on the line perhaps their most surprising guest, Tracy from the Cleveland Cavaliers who invited Williams to join their organization, which also owns Quicken Loans, with a full-time job. She also offered to---drumrollllllllllll--- finance a home for him. As we go to post, the offers were still coming in. And I have to admit, it's tough to type when tears are falling on the keys. What an amazing story.
