TM Landry College Preparatory is moving from Breaux Bridge to a new location in Lafayette.

The school's co-founder, Mike Landry, told KATC yesterday that the school is moving into the old roller skating rink on Moss Street. The school is currently housed in a building on Rees Street in Breaux Bridge.

"We decided that most of the students' families are from Lafayette," Landry told KATC, "and this would be more convenient for them."

According to board member Greg Davis, classes at the Moss Street facility will begin next Thursday.

"We're still in the process of moving," Davis said. "We'll be having classes in Breaux Bridge until the Mardi Gras break."

The move comes three months after a New York Times article alleged that school administrators abused students and falsified students' records to get them into prestigious universities.

After these allegations came out, around 20 schools withdrew from the school, leaving enrollment under 100. Subsequently, the school's board hired a law firm to conduct an investigation into those allegations. According to Davis, the investigation is still ongoing.
