After a 7-2 week in week two of the college football season, the schedule suggested week three could be a tough one.

It was.

The Sun Belt went 2-6 over the weekend, with both wins over FCS schools.

GEORGIA 55, ARKANSAS STATE 0--The #3 team in the country showed why they're a national title contender.  The Georgia crowd wore pink in honor of Wendy Anderson, the late wife of A-State football coach Blake Anderson on "wear pink for Wendy" day.

MINNESOTA 35, GEORGIA SOUTHERN 32--The Gophers got a two yard touchdown pass with just seconds remaining to pull out the win over the Eagles.  Georgia Southern had returned a fumble for a touchdown with under four minutes left to take the lead, but Minnesota drove 75 yards for the winning score.

MEMPHIS 42, SOUTH ALABAMA 6--Brady White threw for three touchdowns and two backs rushed for 100 yards each as the Tigers overwhelmed South Alabama Saturday in Mobile.

SOUTHERN MISS 47, TROY 42--The Golden Eagles won a back and forth game at Veterans Memorial Stadium, spoiling an incredible day by Troy QB Kaleb Barker who threw for five touchdowns.  Four different Troy receivers had 100 yards receiving as Barker threw for 504 yards.

WESTERN MICHIGAN 57, GEORGIA STATE 10--The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season.  Tra Barnett was the lone bright spot as he rushed for 127 yards on 19 carries.  The Broncos had nearly 700 yards of offense.

SMU 47, TEXAS STATE 17--SMU remained unbeaten on the season and handed the Bobcats their third straight loss.  The Mustangs ground game was too much for Texas State, as SMU had nearly 400 yards rushing.

COASTAL CAROLINA 46 NORFOLK STATE 7--The Chants had 401 yards rushing in the game while holding Norfolk State to under 200 yards of offense.  The game was delayed 44 minutes by lightning.

LOUISIANA 77 TEXAS SOUTHERN 6--The Cajuns amassed nearly 750 yards of offense in the easy win.  Former walk-on T. J. Wisham went over 100 yards for the first time in his career as the Cajuns had their starters on the bench late in the first half.
