Trial Monday For Former Teacher Accused Of Bomb Threat

MONROE, La. (AP) — A former teacher accused of making bomb threats against three private schools in Ouachita Parish is scheduled for trial Monday.

The News-Star reports that David Reyna faces up to 20 years at hard labor if he's convicted on one count of falsely threatening to bomb a school.

Reyna was a teacher at River Oaks School when he was arrested Sept. 28 and accused of making bomb threats against River Oaks, St. Frederick and Ouachita Christian schools on Sept. 24.

All three schools were temporarily evacuated, and River Oaks dismissed classes for the day. Police did not find any explosives.

According to court documents, Reyna suffers from depression and insomnia and was having marital troubles and difficulty with his newborn child.

He is free on $200,000 bond.
