The Louisiana State Police in St. Landry parish responded to a trike crash on highway 104 Saturday night. 69-year-old Edward Lanclos of Opelousas was driving his Honda Gold Wing Trike when he left road for unknown reasons.

He crossed the center line and went off on the left side of the road before hitting an embankment. He was thrown from the vehicle and was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if alcohol was involved in the crash, but toxicology samples are being analyzed.

This crash remains under investigation.
