Twenty-Three Year-Old Man Dies In NOLA Crash

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police say a 23-year-old man riding in the front passenger-side seat of an SUV that crashed into a pole while fleeing police has died.

Officer Frank Robertson III told The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/ZkrMbI ) the unidentified victim, who lost part of his leg in the crash, died at a local hospital.

Police say 18-year-old Brittany Sanders was booked with negligent homicide.

Investigators say Sanders was driving erratically and attempted to elude the Orleans Levee District Police Wednesday around 3 p.m.

It was unclear whether Sanders has an attorney.
