Two Abbeville Men Arrested in January Drive-by Shooting

20-year-old Tyshawn Charlot and 23-year-old Donald Briggs III - both of Abbeville - have been arrested for their alleged roles in a drive-by shooting that happened on January 5, 2021.

In a press release, Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says the pair each face a charge of Attempted First Degree Murder. Sheriff Couvillon says deputies then searched separate homes within the city of Abbeville and found firearms, including a stolen shotgun.

The two men now sit in the Vermilion Parish Correction Center.

Sheriff Couvillon says there may be more arrests as the investigation continues.
