Two Arrested For Shooting Signs
FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) — A Franklinton man was arrested Monday for allegedly firing an AK-47 assault rifle at highway signs from a vehicle.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office tells WWL-TV deputies also seized a .22-caliber rifle from Joseph Easterling.
Deputies said he faces charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, illegal discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property.
A deputy pulled over a suspect vehicle early Monday after hearing shots pass near her vehicle.
Deputies said the driver, identified as Laken Breanna Magee, said a group in the vehicle had been "hanging out" at Easterling's home before deciding to drive around and fire the weapons.
Magee was charged with criminal mischief and reckless operation of a vehicle, deputies said.
It was unclear whether either Easterling or Magee has an attorney.
