WEST MONROE, La. (AP) — West Monroe police says two people were killed in a fiery crash Saturday night on Interstate 20.

A police spokesman told The News-Star (http://tnsne.ws/UnAXVr ) Sunday the department was trying to make contact with family members and the names of those involved in the crash were expected to release on Monday.

Police say an eastbound vehicle crossed the I-20 median and collided with another vehicle head-on at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and three others were injured.

The crash forced authorities to shut down westbound traffic on I-20 for about three hours.
