RUSTON, La. (AP) — A Louisiana Tech vice president and the acting president of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology are finalists for president of Tech.

Les Guice is executive vice president and vice president for research and development at the school in Ruston. Duane Hrncir (HERN-sir) has been acting president of the school in Rapid City, S.D., since president Robert Wharton died in September.

Both will be interviewed in public at Tech on Wednesday, Nov. 28. They'll spend the rest of the day meeting with community leaders, student leaders, vice presidents, academic deans, faculty and staff and touring the campus.

The presidential search committee will meet Nov. 29 at 10 a.m.

Dan Reneau plans to retire as Tech's president on June 30.
