UL Softballer Summer Ellyson Named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week

For the second consecutive week, a Ragin' Cajun pitchers has been named the Community Coffee Sun Belt Conference softball pitcher of the week.

Junior Summer Ellyson took home the honor today.

The Lafayette native was electric in the circle last week, tossing 30.2 innings, only giving up four earned runs and 16 base hits, while striking out 24 batters, issuing only three walks.

The Teurlings alum joins Ragin' Cajun teammate Kandra Lamb who won the same honor last week.

Next up for #10 Louisiana is Baylor Invitational in Waco this weekend at Getterman Stadium.

The Ragin' Cajuns will face No. 21 Baylor, Kent State and North Texas.
