UNO Faculty To Receive Awards

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Two University of New Orleans faculty members will receive teaching awards at Saturday's graduation ceremonies.

The university's International Alumni Association will present its Excellence in Teaching Award to associate history professor Connie Zeanah Atkinson and psychology instructor Gilda Reed.

WDSU reports (http://bit.ly/Ud1H8k ) the $2,000 awards will be presented during a pre-commencement reception at the UNO Lakefront Arena.

Atkinson has been on the UNO faculty for 15 years while Reed has been a UNO instructor for 18 years.
