UNO Hires New Athletic Director

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The University of New Orleans has hired New Orleans native and sports marketing executive Derek R. Morel as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

UNO President Peter J. Fos says Morel brings more than 17 years of experience working to advance college athletics, including senior leadership roles at the University of Georgia, the University of Pittsburgh, Tulane University and several other universities.

Morel most recently served as the vice president and general manager of Wake Forest IMG Sports Marketing of IMG College in Winston-Salem, N.C.
