Unrestrained Driver Killed In US 190 Crash

TORBERT, La. (AP) — State police are investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 190 in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Troopers say 56-year-old Ronnie L. Sproles of Oscar died in Thursday evening's crash.

Trooper Jared L. Sandifer say the crash occurred as Sproles attempted to turn left through a guardrail barrier opening between the eastbound and westbound and struck a car.

Sandifer says Sproles, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his truck.

The driver of the car suffered moderate injuries.
