Update – Case Of Michigan Man Who Allegedly Phoned In Bomb Threat To Mercedes-Benz Superdome Transferred Out Of New Orleans
In an update to this story, the case of the man accused of phoning in bomb threats to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has been transferred to Detroit.
Shawn Payton, a Detroit Lions fan (not the New Orleans Saints Head Coach), was arrested for calling in the threats during the second-half of a playoff game that the Saints won over the Lions January 7.
The FBI has been investigating the case. The Michigan man was scheduled for a federal court date in New Orleans on February 14th. Payton faces up to five years in prison.
