It was a stressful time for lawmakers in the latest Louisiana Special Session. There were certainly differences of opinion between those who wanted to raise taxes to try to solve the state's budget problems and those who strictly wanted to cut government spending to do so.

And that stress may have led to some ugly words being thrown in the direction of a state representative from Denham Springs.

When Moon Griffon saw this article in the Advocate, he called Rep. Valarie Hodges to confirm the nasty comments that were allegedly thrown her way.

Rep. Hodges says other male collegues got in her face and spoke disrespectfully to her because she disagreed with their votes to raise taxes during the special session. She told Moon she refused to raise taxes because that's what the majority of her constituents told her to do.
