Vehicle Burglaries On The Rise In Bayou Vista

A string of vehicle burglaries is being investigated in the Bayou Vista area by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's office. Monday evening and Tuesday morning deputies responded to a number of calls on Cross, Teche and David Roads concerning a number of thefts. According to investigators there were no signs of forced entry in any of the cases. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's office has increased patrols in those areas.

The sheriff's Public Information Officer Traci Landry reminds drivers:

• park in a well lighted area if possible
• lock your vehicle consistently
• don't leave valuables in your vehicle
• report suspicious person, vehicles or activity
