The family of Jordan Matthews and the Rayne Community will hold a candlelight on February 25th.

Matthews was killed on February 2nd of this year in what the family calls a senseless act of gun violence.

At 17 years old, his life, his dreams, his future came to a heartbreaking end. Now, we are left with memories that we will cherish forever. - Matthews Family, Facebook

The family goes on to say that in recent weeks the whole community has been plagued with an increase in gun violence. The Matthew family wants to unite and make a stand against the violence that has taken so many people from their families.

The event will take place at the pavilion at the Frog Festival Grounds in Rayne on February 25th at 7:30pm.
