Ville Platte Woman Succumbs To Injuries From Crash

A woman ejected from her vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 167 last Thursday night has died as a result of her injuries.

Troopers say the woman, 49-year-old Cynthia Fontenot was sitting in her disabled car on the shoulder of the road while a family member started to push the car, but the vehicle was pushed onto the highway.

Fontenot was no wearing her seat belt, and she was ejected from the car.

While she was taken to a hospital for treatment, she died as a result of her injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
