Wil Lutz Kicks Career Long Field Goal In Saints Nailbiter
Kicker Wil Lutz kicked a career long 58 yard field goal to push the Saints to victory over the Houston Texans.
In a true battle on Monday Night Football, the Saints bested the Texans 30-28.
After Deshaun Watson lead the Texans to a two play touchdown to tie the game 27-27, Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbarn missed the extra point attempt, however he was touched after he had finished through his kicking motion, and a penalty was called.
Fairbarn made the second point after attempt putting the Texans up 28-27 with 37 seconds left in the game.
The Saints had one timeout remaining and Drew Brees at the helm. They began their march, and made it all the way down to the 44 yard line of the Texans with 2 seconds left, setting up a 58 yard field goal for Lutz.
Lutz had missed a 56 yarder earlier in the game. But he exacted revenge!
