Schools are closed, roads are slippery and power is out for some as the result of a winter storm that hit north Louisiana. A winter storm has created treacherous travel conditions, knocked out power for thousands and closed schools along the I-20 corridor in north Louisiana. Nick Fillo, with the National Weather Service in Shreveport, says roads are icy and law enforcement have worked numerous accidents since the winter precipitation began falling yesterday. The weather system has moved out of Louisiana. There was a chance the storm could drop two to four inches of snow across north Louisiana. Fillo says it was more of an ice event for Louisiana, but there are areas where measurable snow fell. Fillo says the ice storm has kept utility crews busy.
