Youngsville Mayor Wilson Viator To School Board–Build New Schools Or We’re Out

Youngsville Mayor Wilson Viator says his schools will withdraw from the Lafayette Parish School System and form their own district if LPSS doesn't build a new school or expand existing facilities in his town.

Viator cites overcrowding as a primary reason for the ultimatum.

School Board Superintendent Pat Cooper says such a move is not likely since his plans call for new facilities in Youngsville.
