Former Youth Minister Pleads Guilty To Sex With Teen

Eric Manuel was accused of trying to get a 15 year old boy to perform sexual acts with him, and now he has pleaded guilty to that charge. He faces 10 years to life in prison.

Manuel was charged after the mother of the 15 year old found explicit messages on his cell phone.

After police investigated, it was discovered that Manuel had paid the boy to allow Manuel to perform sexual acts. Kaplan police arrested Manuel after they sent him a text message from a 15 year old's phone to set up a meeting.

Manuel is also accused of having explicit exchanges with 17 other boys, ages ranging from 13-16. He did this while pretending to be a 14 year old girl on Facebook. He did not plead guilty to these charges, but it could affect his sentencing, which has been set for February 15th.
