Louisiana's House Education Committee voted 12-7 yesterday to reject a bill that would effectively replace Common Core.

The proposed bill, introduced by State Rep. Brett Geymann, R-Lake Charles, sought to created a new set of standards for education in Louisiana.

Gov. Bobby Jindal submitted a green card indicating his support of the bill. This marked the first time Jindal has publicly supported a bill against Common Core.
