An update to a story KPEL brought you yesterday. City-Parish President Joey Durel must now pay a fine and perform community service. Yesterday, State District Judge Edward Rubin held Durel in contempt and reversed Durel's decision to remove three members from the Lafayette Housing Authority. Rubin had originally reinstated them to the board last year, but Durel removed them a second time. The City-Parish Council then upheld Durel's decision earlier this year. Durel will have to pay a $258 fine and perform eight hours of community service.
