Lafayette, LA (KPEL News) - First responders see us at our worst. Firefighters tackle a terrifying threat to your life and home, as you and your family watch your home burn. Ambulance drivers see you broken, sometimes literally, or physically struggling to breathe. Our encounters with police officers may be less than pleasant (typically, by our own fault), but they come to our rescue when we are in danger or feeling unsafe.
The Louisiana First Responders Christian Association is inducting 15 Louisiana members into the Hall of Fame. Nine of those people serve with an organization in the greater Lafayette area.
A group of independent leaders each year selects outstanding people in their respective fields and honors those who have shown leadership and skills in their communities.
The 2022 group of inductees included Duson Police Chief Kip Judice, Scott Police Chief Chad Leger, former Carencro Police Chief Carlos Stout, Lafayette Police Sergeant Robin Green, Abbeville Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Mouton Jr., and Lafayette Police Major Blair Dore.
The following first responders from the Acadiana area are being honored as inductees:

The Louisiana First Responders Association is made up of career, volunteer and retired fire chiefs in partnership with clergy from different faiths, as well as civilians.  Their purpose is to honor the leaders of first responder agencies for their public service in the job, in their communities and in their churches.
Congratulations and job well done!
