Contractors working with Lafayette Parish and the city of Carencro will make a second pass at collecting storm debris beginning April 9.

DRC Emergency Services will collect construction and demolition type debris, such as carpet, sheet rock, mattresses, and furniture. They are asking residents to place debris on the shoulder of the road.

The flood debris should be kept separate from regular waste, Consolidated Government says. Also, any bagged debris will not be picked up.

The storm debris pickup is a result of storms that flooded many parts of Lafayette Parish, including the city of Carencro. DRC already made one attempt at collecting debris in March.

Anyone with any questions is asked to call Lafayette Consolidated Government, Public Works Dispatch at (337) 291-8517.
