Water lilies are clogging some south Louisiana lakes and bayous, causing problems for commercial and recreational shrimpers.
The problem will become more complicated next year, when the Army Corps of Engineers — citing budget cuts — plans to eliminate its efforts to combat the plants.

$1.4 million is spent annually to spray about 30,000 acres of waterways for nuisance aquatic plants. Terrebonne Parish's president says plans to end the spraying will be a big problem for the area.
