The Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury would like to build a new regional parish jail to ease overcrowding in their parish.

The jury is hoping to use $10 million dollars of state money to help build the facility.

The money would be part of their funding request for $17 million in the capital outlay.  But that would not be the only request for money and projects.

The request includes money for a community center, fire station and help for roads and water infrastructure that police juror voted for this week.

Members know it is just a "wish list" as they would have to wait on state funding for any of the projects to become a reality.
