LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Stress from an altercation with a deputy who used an electric stun device contributed to the death of a Lafayette man in October, but the cause of death was complications from bronchial asthma, according to a pathologists report.

The report released this week lists the death of 28-year-old Javon Rakestrau as accidental.

A lawyer for Rakestrau's family expressed disappointment in the finding and said the family will pursue other legal action.
