Singles Awareness Day – Not Necessarily The News

In this edition of "Not Necessarily The News," Tootie Landry offers her unique encouragement for singles on this day after Valentines Day.

Today we celebrate “Singles Awareness Day!” so if you didn’t get cards, chocolates or flowers, yesterday, no worries! Today is your day! No more saying to yourself “they call me Mr. Pitiful.” Have confidence in yourself. Start thinking “you'll never find another love like mine”

There's not really that many disadvantages to being single. Alright…you cant drive in the H.O.V. lane and doubles tennis is out the question… but … come on, we all know there's lots of reasons to stay single. You get sole custody of the remote, you’re the master of the thermostat, and no one is going to take your leftovers in the fridge.

Economists estimate you save $373,000 in groceries over your lifetime by being single.

Not only you can it be your political party, but it can be your status. "I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T!" So all you singles out there – today is your day because "good times never seem so good."

Celebrate! Leave the toilet seat up or down and follow the advice of Aretha and get a little Respect!
